The Power Of Now

Being in the now is forever inspiration to me. Do you ever walk, drive or ride and you really look around yourself? Do you really see a tree or a flower? Not just notice it, but really see? Do you ever breathe in the moment now, or you wish to be in another better moment?

I struggle with this as well, because it a constant reminder, until it becomes like breathing, automatically. I am finally in situation where I think I can do, be and have whatever I want. So imagine knowing you can, but really struggle to get there, not just get there, but you are confused what steps you should take to get there? I know I am not the only one, I know. We all struggled to believe in ourselves, but now when we do believe in ourselves, we struggle to get the life we really want.

“Accept — then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life.”
― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

I don”t know about you, but I am seeing signs all over the place. Just today I saw big billboard on the bus that said: “Build your future one step at a time!” And it hit me. It is all true. We often times want to be there tomorrow, but it doesn”t go this way, we need to learn out lessons and give everything time to fall into place. I know it is easier said that done. But try to relax now, you always build your future within now. It is always now. It is always now that you create tomorrow. It is always now that you create in a month time. It is always now that you create in 5 years time. Only what we have is now.

“It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole life waiting to start living.”
― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

Why we often times think there is something wrong with the now, that there is always something missing with the now, that it is not good enough? Are we really gonna forever stay in the lack of everything if we always want more? Yes, we do! How will you appreciate more if you don”t appreciate what you already have? You can”t! Because you will always be in the lack.

MY EXPERIENCE

I will never forget the day when I for the first time heard silence. That was like, omg, such a beautiful sound. It was only then that I heard, and knew, was aware of, how was I living before, in total noise. Noise in my head.

BEING PRESENT IN YOUR FAMILY LIFE
We’ve all had times like this: Our kid comes up to us, asks a question. We’re not paying attention, but out of parental guilt and/or irritation we say, “Yes,” not having a clue what we just agreed to. Next minute we look outside and see him running butt-naked through the sprinkler.

Or, maybe that’s just my experience, but you get the point. We have moments throughout our day when our minds are not focused on the important stuff, like our families.

This is the source that I found above about being in the present in your family life which is one of the most important things in our lives. Being here for your kids and a partner is everything. I would never be able to explain any better, because I don”t have a family yet, but I understand how being in the present with your kids is important, because I was a child once, and I missed my parents attention. They were always busy watching news, talking about others, never being fully present with their kids, me and my sister. But it”s O.K. right?
“Die to the past every moment. You don’t need it. Only refer to it when it is absolutely relevant to the present. Feel the power of this moment and the fullness of Being. Feel your presence.”
― Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
HOW KIDS ARE LIVING IN THE NOW
Kids are always living in the now. They don”t doubt that food is going to come. They just play and play, and when they become hungry, they start to cry, and yet we, as their parents, are running to feed them.
Kids are expressing their emotions easily. They cry like a river, one moment they are angry and then another, everything is forgotten. They have that sense of awe whatever they see, they are amazed by almost everything. They like to taste, smell, feel and touch. They notice what is around them. What a beautiful beings, small people that are so pure and so fresh, closest to the source.
BREATHING TECHNIQUE
I just spoke with my mother about being i the now and she asked me am I practice it, I said: “Of course I do!” And then said she will do also, but I reminded her then, that she needs to do that every day, every time she realizes that she is not in the moment, she needs to practice it again. Being in the present at all times is definitely possible. It is like a muscle that you need to build. Everything that you practice in life is like you building a muscle. It get stronger and bigger over time, and there is nothing more to weaken that muscle again. Same is like practicing being in the present. The more you practice, the more it becomes like your lifestyle. Your worries will vanish, your fears, your doubts. All what will be left is pure present, joy and happiness.
