Whether you realize it or not, you are talking to yourself, all day, every day.
There are 2 types of speeches:
- Inner speech
- Outer speech
Which one of these two you do the most? I try to do the both. 🙂 Yes, I literally talk out loud, I have real conversations with me, and sometimes I do pretend that Oprah Winfrey is in my room and I am asking her for advice. 🙂 haha
Now, seriously!
Talking out loud can organize your thoughts, empty your mind of chatter, and give you clarity.
There are so many research on inner and outer speech, and people do it constantly, much more than you think. People sit in their rooms, walk through the house and they talk like somebody is with them, but they just think out loud. They materialize their thoughts of some sort.

There is also amazing song by Mr.SuicideSheep artist called “Talking to myself”. Here it is:
You can ask yourself for advice. No one knows what is best for you, other than you, and this will stay like that forever. Underneath all that doubt and worry that you might have, there is also a wisdom, you just have to ignite it. Ask for it, and it is immediately going to be given to you.
Of course I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.
Really, you can talk to yourself almost anytime you like, just don’t do that if people are around you, because you are going to get weird looks.
Talk to yourself on a way home, in a shower, while getting ready for the day, in a bed, while cooking, as I said, almost anytime you like and you feel like doing.
It is so freeing.
Any thought on this? Are you going to be practicing talking to yourself more?
