Things that make you feel safe and secure

Nothing on this planet is as safe and secure anymore. Look what happened to 2020, with Covid and stuff?! Thinking that you are now safe and settled is such a great illusion. People come together and they divorce, start their own businesses and then they fail. Long lasting relationship is not that lasting anymore. That is the hard truth, but it is truth.

I used to think, leaving my parents house, and going in another country, starting fresh, I will feel safe and secure. What an illusion! We are living in great uncertainty now, and actually that is what life makes fun and unpredictable, right?

It is topic that not many people talk about, but is crucial to live happy and stress free life.

We all have the right to feel safe all the time.

Do you feel safe when you are alone, all by yourself? Many people can’t. Why? Because they are afraid of what they might hear from their own self. They might hear things like: “Look what you’ve done?!” “How crappy your life is!” “You look terrible, nobody likes you!” these are just few of the destructive self talk people have when they are alone with themselves and that is excruciating.

I loved video by the Julia Kristina about what secure people don’t do, and I resonated with every part. Please, watch it here:

We covered so far things that doesn’t feel us safe and secure, but what about things that do make us feel safe and secure.

Here are couple of points: (please add some yours in a comment section below)

  • Believing in God, Universe, Higher power
  • Believing in themselves and their better future
  • Confidence in self
  • Ability to handle everything that comes their way

Whatever that you are feeling now, know that is all right, and is fine. A great question that you can ask yourself is: “Will it matter in a 5 years time?” I assure you, in most cases, it will not matter in a 5 years time, no matter what are you going through. So forget it, and move on with your life as best of your ability.

Don’t worry, be happy

It may sound cliche, but hear me out. It is so much easier to worry and to imagine all the worrisome situations than to find what makes us really happy. And I don’t mean it literally, because figuring out what makes us really happy, takes a little bit of soul searching, it takes a little bit of time and patience.

Do what you love and love what you do.
