How to win friends and influence people

I heard about this book a years ago, until recently I bought in book store, just because I stumbled upon, I didn”t plan to. But I did it right. Now was the time.

It is a great book that will teach you how to be an effective communicator. Don”t we all communicate every day, throughout the day? You want to be effective, learn as much as you can, and get people really listening you.

It isn”t about winning your friends, competing with them. It”s about being just interested to them. And how you can be interested to people? Do you know how to listen? And when you are listening are you focusing just on the words? Try to focus on meaning behind those words, their gestures, face expressions. It”s crazy when you thing about that, but are you focusing on bigger picture? And who is talking and why is he talking?

“You can make more friends in 2 months by becoming interested in other people that you can in 2 years by trying to get people interested in you”.

What you can make tomorrow? Just start to asking people simple questions. Ask them for instance; “How are you feeling today?”, “What did you do last night?”, etc. It”s that simple. To ask people; “Hi! How are you?” ​is normal today, but to ask any other question you have to know them. That”s why start with simple one, whoever comes your way today. You will feel much better, I assure you.

You can feel good about yourself and make others too

Apart from learning how to be effective listener and learning how to become truly interested in what are people saying there”s an much more. Here are some pinpoints:

  • How to get out of mental rut, think new thoughts, acquire new visions, discover new ambitions.
  • Make friends quickly and easily.
  • Increase your popularity
  • Win people to your way of thinking
  • Increase your influence, your prestige, your ability to get things done.
  • Handle complaints, avoid arguments, keep your human contact smooth and pleasant.
  • Become a better speaker, a more entertaining conversationalist.
  • Arouse enthusiasm among your associates.​

It is all about of being service to others. My life changed when I decided of being of service to others. Think about it! If you wanna build now your own business, try to think in terms of how you can help people, focus on their wants.

If you have some kind of your business right now, and you are offering service to others, you gotta be interested in helping your clients, they would feel that, and they would come for more, feeling appreciated and valued.

“Give honest and sincere appreciation!”

A hen has to lay eggs, a cow has to give milk, and a canary has to sing. But a dog makes his living by giving you nothing but love. Give to other person appreciation and you are rich for life. If you are suffering at this moment, maybe that”s because you are focused just on yourself. Give another being smile, nice word, a hug. Same thing, success without fulfillment is ultimate failure.

Become truly interested in other people. People are interested just in themselves, not in you. When you see a group of photograph that you are in, whose picture do you look for first? Your own of course, because you are interested in you.

If we merely try to impress people and get people interested in us, we will never have many true, sincere friends. Friends, real friends, are not made that way.

You love and feel appreciated when somebody calles you by your name, right? I personally love when somebody calles me by my name, I feel important, valued. People love to hear their names, especially if it comes with right tone of the voice. That is the sweetest thing to them. I always before I wanna say something, I say the name first. Try do the same, and watch the glow in their eyes. You both will feel much better. You contributed to yourself and that person with least effort, but got tremendous value.

If you are working at the same place for a months or even years, become genuinely interested in your colleagues every morning, day after day. You will discover a great things about people who you didn”t know before. That how you are making friends and becoming truly influencer. Try every time to see the person like you never met before. See the person as a whole. Ask yourself questions: “Who is she/he?”

Pretty tough words coming from an esteemed scholar and philosopher, but it opened him up to more knowledge every day. In other words, start every day with a clean state. Give yourself a new beginning by opening up your mind.

If  I”d started in business thinking I knew everything, I”d have been sunk before I got started. Don”t make that mistake. There are a lot of hidden aspects in every industry, and you will find out how complex seemingly simple things can be.

“Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.”

There are two types of teachers. The ones who discouraging students by emphasizing their mistakes and ones who keep praising the things students did right and minimizing their errors.

Tell you child, your spouse, or your employee that he or she is stupid or dumb at a certain thing, has no gift for it, and is doing it all wrong, and you have destroyed almost every incentive to try to improve. It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.​
