What is discipline and why should you discipline yourself? Well, everybody who disciplined themselves and achieved some kind of greatness, they had a huge amount of discipline. They disciplined themselves first. They had a laser focus on what it is they want. It is that easy. We need great amount of discipline to learn for school, to graduate, to study, to do the homework. It is something that we need to do, to be able to do what we really want later on. Discipline yourself now, and your life will be much easier later. I promise you that!

The best moment to discipline yourself and just go for the things that you want is always NOW. There is no better time for start practicing something but NOW. NOW is all that you have. Live like there is NO tomorrow.

BUILD YOUR WILLPOWER

As I already said: “You future self will thank you for!” Build your willpower. Try to actively make your life better. Maybe you are not motivated now. You would rather be in a cinema, or some bar, drinking and having fun with your friends. That is completely O.K., But what are you doing in the times when you are alone. Are you motivated and inspired to be, do and have better?

It is like a building muscle. It will become stronger and bigger after some time. You will not want to stop, because you will be empowered, you will feel like the world is yours, and you can conquer whatever life throws at you. Is there any better feeling that feel amazing, strong and powerful? For me no! But you need to work for it! You need to build that willpower.

Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all. A disciplined mind leads to happiness, and an undisciplined mind leads to suffering. Discipline imposed from the outside eventually defeats when it is not matched by desire from within.

I found this paragraph on google and I agree with it fully. The ones who are suffering today, they are not just disciplined in what they want, and they are not doing anything about it. Just imagine how would it feel like if you discipline yourself TODAY and do the things that you said you would do. You will feel very strong, and have a feeling how you CAN create whatever you set your mind to.

START SMALL THINK BIG

Life is all about taking actions. We are the beings of movement. We are not meant to be stagnant. Again, beautiful google makes our lives so much easier. Here I found the definition of stagnant. And I looove what it says about the water. Here it is:

stagnant. The definition of stagnant is someone or something that has little or no movement or activity. An example of stagnant is a pond in which the water is not moving.

We all know how water that is stagnant looks and smells like, right? It is very filthy and smelly. 😀 We don”t want our bodies to feel and look like. We don”t want our lives to be like that, right?

KNOW YOUR WEAKNESSES

We all have weaknesses, whether admit that to yourself or not. Some may have chocolate chip cookies as a weakness, some online games… Know your weakness. Own up to your flaws. You can’t overcome them until you do.

It is the same as being alcoholic. Alcohol addicted person is not going to quit alcohol before he admits he has a problem with it. A person has to be completely honest with himself and really look at the situation whole, to see there is a problem he needs to reduce.

SET CLEAR GOALS AND HAVE AN EXECUTION PLAN

If you hope to achieve self-discipline, you must have a clear vision of what you hope to accomplish. You must also have an understanding of what success means to you. After all, if you don’t know where you are going, it’s easy to lose your way or get sidetracked.

A clear plan outlines each step you must take in order to reach your goals. Figure out who you are and what you are about. Create a mantra to keep yourself focused. Successful people use this technique to stay on track and establish a clear finish line.

REWARD YOURSELF

Give yourself something to be excited about by planning a reward when you accomplish your goals. Just like when you were a little kid and got a treat for good behavior, having something to look forward to gives you the motivation to succeed.

Anticipation is powerful. It gives you something to obsess over and focus on, so you’re not only thinking of what you are trying to change. And when you achieve your goal, find a new goal and a new reward to keep yourself moving forward.
